The trial lesson is an opportunity for student and teacher to meet one another to determine if they are compatible with one another, without any long-term commitment. Parents are welcome to accompany children. If a longer lesson length is desired, that can be arranged after the initial 30-minute session.
Soprano Lisa Parente moved to Maryland in 2016 to pursue her Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the Peabody Conservatory under Soprano Ah Young Hong. Ms. Parente began with a musical theater and choral background. She combined her love of live theater and classical singing, and is now pursuing a career in opera.
She has been seen as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, The Dew Fairy in Hänsel und Gretel, and Amore in L’incoronazione di Poppea.
In addition to opera, Lisa performs in other solo settings. She has been featured as the soloist in Poulenc’s Gloria, the Soprano soloist in Stephen Paulus’ To Be Certain of the Dawn and the soprano soloist in Faure’s Requiem.
She has placed in many competitions, including First Place in the California Women’s Choral Competition, Second Place in the San Diego Choral Club Competition, and Honorable Mention in the La Jolla Young Artist Competition.
Lisa has taught privately and aims to spread her love for music in those around her. Her teaching style focuses on healthy technique, musicality, and performance as a process and life skill.
