Adam Lilly
Adam is a drummer, performer, and educator with more than 20 years of playing experience. His musical journey began on pots and pans before moving into elementary school band, then rock and metal bands throughout middle and high school, alongside his school's jazz ensembles.
For the past decade, Adam has performed and recorded professionally with regional and touring artists across genres. He currently serves with the 229th Maryland Army National Guard Band, performing in its marching, concert, jazz, and commercial ensembles.
Adam is passionate about sharing music and performance with his students. Drawing on his understanding of the drummer's unique role in an ensemble, he creates focused, personalized lessons that address skills and musical thought processes often overlooked in traditional music programs. He specializes in the physical side of drumming, helping students develop effective technique, confidence, and musical awareness.
Adam welcomes students of all ages and experience levels. Lessons can explore the fundamentals of drumming, technique, timing and groove, reading music, playing with an ensemble, stylistic versatility, recording, and preparation for auditions or performances—always shaped around each student's goals and musical interests.
