The trial lesson is an opportunity for student and teacher to meet one another to determine if they are compatible with one another, without any long-term commitment. Parents are welcome to accompany children. If a longer lesson length is desired, that can be arranged after the initial 30-minute session.
Bio
Soprano Mary Pohlenz is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Music Education at Towson University. Beginning her musical journey at an early age, Ms. Pohlenz has a diverse background in performing many genres in solo and ensemble settings. Some of Ms. Pohlenz’s notable solo experiences include appearances with the Bel Air Community Band and Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra, guest soloist in Town of Bel Air’s Fourth of July parade, as well as many prestigious Towson University concerts. In addition to solo performing, Ms. Pohlenz has been involved in professional church music for many years. She currently serves as soprano section leader at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Bel Air. She has taken over 15 years of private instruction in voice, piano, guitar, and continues to study solo voice at Towson University under Dr. Min Jin.
Ms. Pohlenz is excited to utilize her knowledge and love for music in order to teach the next generation of young musicians. She is dedicated to create a nurturing and customized education setting for each individual. She encourages her students to embrace their unique voices through helping to build confidence, foster creativity, and most importantly, a love for music. Her teaching style is rooted in authenticity and enthusiasm, places emphasis on the importance of solid technical skills, and encourages an attitude of continuous learning.
